About Fire Socks
Fire socks are a protective layer that wraps around the inner core of a mattress. Their function is to slow down the burning of the mattress fabric layer, and prevent flames from entering the interior of the mattress.
Mattress FR socks are normally made from the synthetic material that encases the inner core of foam mattresses.
Toxic and Harmful Fire Resistant Socks
There are two known types of FR Fire Socks being used today. Some are treated with toxic fire-resistant chemicals. Others are constructed with fiberglass.
They are intended to be safe but expose the user to other risks.
Fiberglass FR Socks
It’s no secret that when fiberglass shards float around your house, it can destroy everything in your home.
When exposed to the air, fiberglass expels tiny debris throughout the house. Side effects of exposure include rash, eye irritation, nose and throat soreness, and temporary stomach irritation. Armor – Jiahe mattress socks do not have fiberglass.
Toxic Mattress Socks
Toxic flame retardant socks expose users to a variety of chemicals known to be unhealthy. Mattress manufacturers are under no legal obligation to list the ingredients in their “secret or proprietary” flame retardant barrier solutions. They are only required to pass independent third-party burn tests to ensure their mattresses burn at an acceptable rate.
